On 9 November, Corinthia Founder and Executive Chairman, Mr Alfred Pisani was awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in the Hospitality Industry by Hospitality ON. The award ceremony took place in Paris, under the patronage of Mr Emmanuel Macron, the President of the French Republic.
For almost 25 years, Hospitality Awards have been celebrating excellence and best practices of the hospitality industry in various fields of expertise. The awards are also dedicated to individuals who play a key role in bringing new trends in the hospitality industry by evolving dreams into new experiences.
Mr Alfred Pisani, as the Founder of Corinthia, has propelled the Company over these 60 years, from its inception in 1962 as an elegant dining experience at the Corinthia Palace Restaurant in Malta, followed by the opening of the first Corinthia Hotel, the Corinthia Palace, in 1968. Under his leadership, Corinthia managed to reach enviable heights when it opened various hotels, in particular the Corinthia in London. The Group has stretched its reach across Europe, the United Sates, the Middle East, Russia and Africa.
The award acknowledges the determination, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of Mr Alfred Pisani as he guided Corinthia over these many years, always committed in moving forward and expanding the company as investors, developers and operators.
When presented with this award, Mr Pisani gave the following comment:
Thank you for this prestigious award. 60 years in the industry is no doubt a long journey, however, that aside, my major satisfaction has not only been the development of high-quality properties offering luxury service under the brand Corinthia, but the fact that in the process of this evolution, as a company we worked to a philosophy of caring for our colleagues and uplifting their lives, which we refer to as the ‘Spirit of Corinthia’.
In particular, I would like to thank my wife Maria and my family, as also my colleagues who have been supporting me throughout this journey.
